Get Up, Leave the Mat and Walk

Yesterday was a very rough day for our business. We learned that 66% of our 2008 affordable housing projects are not going to win the necessary allocations. When a typical project takes a year to put together and requires substantial pre-development capital, you can see how its loss can be demoralizing. We don’t expect to win 100% of the time, but we also aren’t expecting a 66% failure rate. We did all that we could.

Today I am back in the saddle quieting the fears of my employees and prayerfully working to re-direct our activities for the balance of this year. As usual, I found strength this morning in the pages of God’s word. I have been studying through the bible for a long time and it never ceases to amaze me how often God uses exactly where I happen to be at in the bible to speak to my specific situation. It used to kind of freak me out but now I have come to expect and even pray for it.
